Search Digital Objects

A Digital Object is a computer file such as a .zip file, .mp3, .pdf, etc.  The Search Digital Objects page displays the digital objects that are currently present in the store. Click here for a longer definition of Digital Object.

By default, Digital Objects are displayed by their SID number.  A different method of sorting can be done by clicking the up and down arrows in the heading of each column.

Use the Search Digital Objects tool for advanced search options.

 
Search Digital Objects Columns

SID (System ID)
The SID (System ID) is a unique number that identifies the digital object to the system.  This number is set by the software and cannot be changed.

DO
The Display Order determines the order in which the Digital Objects are displayed to customers in the download area of the storefront.  The lower the number, the higher the priority.

Name
Displays the names of the digital objects.

Type
Displays the digital object type, such as File or Webpage.

Owner
This will display who will have access to this digital object when creating products in the administration area.

URL
Displays the digital object URLs. Click the link to view the full URL for the digital object.

Access Hours
Displays the number of hours after purchase customers will have access to the digital object.

Access Attempts
Displays the number of times the customer can access the digital object after purchase.

Release Date
Displays the release date the digital object becomes accessible to customers that purchase an associated product in the storefront.

Filesize
Displays the size of the digital object in megabytes.  This is automatically detected by the software.

note
The digital delivery module will attempt to acquire the filesize from the server hosting it.

Test
Click the  icon to test the URL to the digital object. Clicking that icon should start the download.  If not, there may be a problem with the path to the file.

warning
There should never be any spaces in the Digital Object URL, including the file name itself.  If there are spaces, the download will almost certainly fail when customer attempt to download the digital object through the Digital Delivery system.

Notes
Notes are hidden and displayed to store administrators only.  Click on the number to view/edit the note or to add a new note.

Active
An active digital object will be signified by a green dot in this column, while a red X indicates that the digital object is inactive.  Customers will not have access to digital objects that are inactive.  Click the icon to toggle the status.

Clone
This tool makes a complete copy of the parent digital object.  This can be useful for quickly creating new digital objects based off of existing ones.

Edit this Digital Object
Click on the SID number or    icon to go to the Digital Object Editor, where it can be edited.

The checkboxes in this column work with the dropdown box below the table, providing the ability to make bulk changes to multiple digital objects simultaneously.

Make Active
Multiple digital objects can be activated by selecting the checkboxes on the right, selecting Make Active from the dropdown menu and clicking Go.

Make Inactive
Multiple digital objects can be deactivated by selecting the checkboxes on the first right, selecting Make Inactive from the dropdown menu, and clicking Go.

Clone
Multiple digital objects can be cloned simultaneously.  To clone multiple digital objects,  select the desired digital objects on the far right, select clone in the dropdown below the table, and click Go.

Delete
If a digital object is no longer needed, it can be deleted.  To delete a digital object, select the desired digital object(s) on the far right, select delete in the dropdown below the table, and click Go.
