Customer groups are lists of customers. Customer groups can be used with Modular Mailer to send out emails, the Event Engine, and much more.
The Search Customer Groups page displays the customer groups present in the store. By default, the customer groups are displayed in order of DO (Display Order). A different method of sorting can be selected by clicking the up and down arrows in the heading of each column.
Search Customer Group Columns
SID (System ID)
The SID (System ID) is a unique number that identifies the customer group to the system. This number is set by the software and cannot be changed.
Group Name
This displays the name of the customer group.
Description
Displays the optional description for the customer group. If the description is longer than the column width, the full description can be viewed by clicking the link.
Match Type
Displays the match type for the customer group. The match types are All or Any.
# of Customers
This will display the number of customers associated with the customer group. Click the number to view all a list of the customers associated with the group.
Notes
Displays the note(s) associated with the customer group, if any. Notes are optional and only viewable by store administrators. Click on the number to view the notes or add new ones.
Active
This will display the active status of the customer groups . The Green sphere signifies Active, whereas the Red X signifies inactive. Click the icon to toggle the active status of the group.
Clone
This tool creates a new customer group based on an existing customer group; which is useful for quickly creating new customer groups.
Edit this Customer Group
Click the SID number or icon to go to the Customer Group Editor, where the group can be edited.

The checkboxes in this column work with the dropdown menu below the table, providing the option of making changes to one or more customer groups simultaneously.

Make Active
Multiple customer groups can be activated by selecting the checkboxes on the right, selecting Make Active from the dropdown menu and clicking Go.
Make Inactive
Multiple customer groups can be deactivated by selecting the checkboxes on the first right, selecting Make Inactive from the dropdown menu, and clicking Go.
Clone
Multiple customer groups can be cloned simultaneously. To clone multiple customer groups, select the desired customer groups on the far right, select clone in the dropdown below the table, and click Go.
Delete
If a customer groups is no longer needed, it can be deleted. To delete a customer groups, select the desired customer group(s) on the far right, select delete in the dropdown below the table, and click Go. |
