The Search Product Groups page displays the product groups that are currently present in the store.
By default, the product groups are displayed in order by the SID (System ID) number. A different method of sorting can be selected by clicking the up and down arrows in the heading of each column.
Search Product Groups
The first section of the Search Product Groups page provides the option to choose between displaying all product groups or only product groups that meet certain rules, and to choose how many product groups to display per page.

This dropdown menu in the Search Product Groups title bar may be toggled between all Product Groups and Product Groups that match rules below.

When this option is selected, all of the store's product groups will be included in the Product Group Search results.

Product Groups that match rules below
When this option is selected, additional options will be displayed below the Search Products group title bar, to allow the entry of search rules.
Search Rules
Active Status (Y/N)
This rule may be used to search for product groups with a specific active status. An active status of Y indicates an active product group. An active status of N indicates an inactive product group.
Example: Active Status (Y/N) is N will search for only inactive product groups
Parent Product (SID)
This rule may be used to search for product groups based on the SID number of the parent product.
Example: Parent Product (SID) is greater than 10 will search for product groups that have a parent product with an SID number greater than 10.
Product Group Name
This rule may be used to search for product groups based on the name of the product group.
Example: Product Group Name contains apple will search for product groups that have "apple" in the product group name.
SID (System ID)
This rule may be used to search for product groups based on the product group SID number.
Example: SID (System ID) is not 5 will search for product groups that do not have the product group SID number of 5.
results per page
This dropdown menu in the Search Product Groups title bar may be used to choose how many results will be displayed in each page of the Product Group Search table. Options include 25, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, or 500 results per page.
Product Group Search
SID
The SID (System ID) is a unique number that identifies the group to the system. This number is assigned by the shopping cart software when the group is first create, and cannot be changed.
Product Group Name
The name of the product group. This value may be changed within the Product Group Editor. When using any of the stock template packages, on the product detail page for any product in the group, the product group name will be displayed as the title above a dropdown menu that contains all of the group's child products.
Parent Product
Displays the SID number of the group's parent product, and provides a link to open the parent product in the Product Editor.
# of Products
The number of products in the product group. This number is a clickable link to the Search Products page, showing the list of products in the product group.
Active
Specifies whether the group is active or inactive. Only active groups will be used in the storefront. Clicking the button in the Active column will immediately toggle the group between active and inactive, and vice versa.
Edit
Click the icon to edit the product group.
(Check Icon) The checkboxes in this column work with the dropdown menu below the table, providing the options of activating, deactivating, and deleting one or more product groups simultaneously.

Make Active
Multiple product groups can be activated by selecting the checkboxes on the right, selecting Make Active from the dropdown menu, and clicking Go.
Make Inactive
Multiple product groups can be deactivated by selecting the checkboxes on the first right, selecting Make Inactive from the dropdown menu, and clicking Go.
Delete
If a product group is no longer needed, it can be deleted. To delete a product group, select the desired product group(s) on the far right, select delete in the dropdown below the table, and click Go. |
