Digital Delivery Options
Default Digital Object Shelf Life
Sets the default shelf life for all digital objects in the store. The shelf life is used to determine how long customers will have access to each digital object after placing the order in the store, as well as how many access attempts they will have.
note Each digital object can have a unique digital shelf life. When creating the digital object, the shelf life will be prepopulated with the default shelf life mentioned above, but it can be overridden in the Digital Object Editor.
Require order "authorized" status
If this option is toggled to YES, the customer's order must be marked as authorized, or the customer will not have access to the store's digital objects. If this option is toggled to NO, the customer will have access to all digital objects purchased in the order, even if the order has not yet been authorized by the payment gateway.
Require order "paid" status
If this option is toggled to YES, the customer's order must be marked as paid, or the customer will not have access to the digital objects. If this option is toggled to NO, the customer will have access to all digital objects purchased in the order, even if the order has not yet been marked as paid.
tip Orders placed with credit cards in the storefront will typically automatically be marked as both paid and authorized if the System Settings Capturing of funds is selected to authorize AND collect the funds.
Digital Object access restrictions
This option can be used to add an extra layer of security to the download area of the store. It is used to restrict access to the downloads for customers that either match the first customer's IP address exactly, or the first, second, or third nodes of it.
Access floodcheck
This option is used to prevent customers from downloading consecutive downloads until specified time interval has passed. Leave blank to ignore.
Add new Digital Objects to existing orders?
If selected as YES, new digital objects that are added to a product will also be applied to past orders that included that product. If selected as NO, then orders will not be updated with the new digital objects when they are added to the product.
example
Let's say you have Product 123, and that has three digital objects assigned to it: Object A, Object B and Object C.
A customer purchases that product in the store, and an order is created for it. The download area for that order will include the three objects assigned to Product A.
Then, you add a new object to Product A, which we will call: Object D
: Object D will become a downloadable file for that order.
: Object D will not become a downloadable file for that order.
Remove old Digital Objects from existing orders?
If selected as YES, any digital objects that are removed from a product will be removed from any order's available downloads. If selected as NO, any digital objects that are removed from a product will not be removed from that order.
