Since Digital Objects are usually computer files, those files need to be stored somewhere on the internet — so they can be downloaded by the customers that purchase them.

The locations where your Download Files are hosted on the internet are File Storage Areas. When a customer downloads a Digital Object, they will be downloading it from the File Storage Area that hosts it.

All Modular Merchant accounts include a default File Storage Area. Additional File Storage Areas can be added to your account. Most third-party servers can also be used as File Storage Areas.

There’s no limit to the number of File Storage Areas you can set up.

Examples of File Storage Areas:
File Storage Areas are simply directories on your website that contain the files attached to your store's digital products. Some examples include:

http://www.another-example.com/some_more_files/
