A customer group is a list of customers that match a specific set of rules. Customer groups are used by many components of the Modular Merchant shopping cart software, such as as Modular Mailer and the Event Engine.
Every customer may be assigned to multiple customer groups. The Customer Group Editor is used to specify the rules that are used to create each customer group. Once the rules have been specified, the shopping cart automatically assigns any customers matching the rules to the group. The shopping cart also automatically removes any customers who no longer match the group rules.
