How often does Modular Mailer deliver queued emails?

After a batch of emails have been added to the Email Delivery Queue, Modular Mailer will automatically start delivering the emails.

The delivery software typically scans the Queue for due messages every 15 minutes, and delivers the next batch of emails that are due for delivery. The number of emails delivered in each batch will vary by account plan. This is because, in order to prevent a degradation in server performance, the servers will throttle the amount of resources given to email delivery.

The size of each account's email batch is:

BRONZE*:
Modular Mailer's automated email capabilities are not available with BRONZE account plan.

SILVER*:
112 emails per batch. Equivalent to an email being sent every 8 seconds.

GOLD*:
225 emails per batch. Equivalent to an email being sent every 4 seconds.

PLATINUM*:
450 emails per batch. Equivalent to an email being sent every 2 seconds.

DIAMOND**:
900 emails per batch. Equivalent to an email being sent every second.

Semi-Dedicated Server:
1,800 emails per batch. Equivalent to two emails being sent per second. Semi-dedicated web servers host a maximum of ten websites.

Dedicated Server:
By default, dedicated servers send 3,600 emails per batch. Equivalent to four emails being sent per second. However, accounts running on a dedicated server can change this number to a different value at: [Modules > Modular Mailer > Module Options].

example
A subscriber to the DIAMOND account plan that is hosted on a standard shared web server could expect it to take roughly 5.5 hours to deliver an email newsletter to 20,000 subscribing customers.

*These account plans are hosted on a standard shared web server, which hosts up to 100 websites.

** DIAMOND account plans are hosted on a standard shared web server by default, but are eligible to be upgraded to be hosted on either a semi-dedicated or dedicated web server.
