The Related Products module is used to market related products to customers in the store before checkout has been completed.
The Related Product Rule Editor is used to establish relationships between products in the store.
Related Product Rule Information
Rule Name
The Rule Name will not be visible to store customers; it is visible to store admins only.
Active
Active related product rules will be processed by the system. Inactive rules are ignored.
Reciprocal
Reciprocal rules mean that the customer can have either the parent or child products in the basket and the counterpart will be displayed. For example, if peanut butter was the parent and jelly was the child, the customer can have jelly in the basket and peanut butter will be displayed or the customer can have peanut butter in the basket and jelly will be displayed.
Source Products
Source products are the trigger products used to display the related products to customers.
Add a product
Input the product's SID number and click the Add to List button. If the product SID number is not known, click the Search button and input the product's name. The Related Product rule can have any number of source products.
Related Products
Related Products are displayed to customers in the store if the Source Product is present in the customer's basket.
note Related Products can also be displayed in the store's product details pages, whether the customers have the source product(s) in the basket or not.

note The Related Products module is used to upsell products to customers BEFORE their order has been confirmed. The 1-Click Upsell module is used to market products to customers AFTER the order has been placed.
