How to access log files in Plesk

This tutorial provides instructions on how to access Plesk to view the server logs.

note
The Plesk control panel was not developed by Modular Merchant, it was developed by Parallels.  For any assistance or questions regarding Plesk, we recommend reviewing the documentation on Parallel's website: http://kb.parallels.com/

Prerequisites

This tutorial assumes that the user already has the following:
  1. Basic understanding of server logs and how to use the information they contain.
  2. Basic familiarity with the Plesk control panel.
  3. An activated Modular Merchant account.

Locating your Plesk login information

For Modular Merchant version 4 clients, the Plesk login information can be found in the store's Administration Area at [Hosting > Connection Info].

For Modular Merchant version 3 clients, the Plesk login information can be found in the store's Administration Area at [Hosting > FTP Account Info].

Accessing the Plesk server logs

There are a variety of logs available within Plesk. To access them:
  1. Log into Plesk using the access information provided within the Hosting section of the store's Administration Area.
  2. In Plesk, locate the section labeled Statistics and click Log Manager.
  3. A variety of log files will be listed on the Log Manager page, including the website's access log, ssl access log and error logs. Click the name of any log to view its contents in a popup window.
note
Firefox and other web browsers that block pop ups may block the file from opening. You will need to configure your browser to allow pop ups to see the files.
