Product Field Editor

Product fields are used to add variations of products to your store, such as different sizes, colors, etc. Product fields are useful for adding multiple product options all at once, rather than creating individual products in the store for each possible product variation.

The Product Field Editor is used to create and edit product fields.

key concept
Product attributes are generally used to add various extra descriptions to products.  Store administrators select the attribute from within the Product Editor.  Product fields are generally used to allow customers to make a choice when adding the product to the basket.

Inventory is not tracked if a product field is used.  If you would like each product variation to have its own inventory, use a Product Group instead.

Product Fields are not compatible with products in subscriptions. As an alternative, if possible, Product Groups should be used instead.

To create a new product field:
  1. Go to Products > Add a Product Field.
  2. Select the type of field from the dropdown menu.
  3. Configure the product field.
  4. Click the Add this Product Field button when finished.
To edit an existing product field:
  1. Go to Products > Search Product Fields.
  2. Click either the SID number or the icon associated with the product field.
  3. Make the desired changes to the product field.
  4. Click the Save Changes to this Product Field button when finished.
