The Digital Delivery module provides the ability to sell downloadable files in the store, such as mp3s, pdfs, zip files, and much more. It can also be used to protect the URL of a web page.
The Digital Delivery Module home page is a list of the major sections of the store's digital delivery system. The sections of the module are as follows:
Maintenance
The items in the Maintenance section control the module's storefront behavior.
Reduce Bandwidth Usage
Learn how to reduce your bandwidth usage by uploading the mm_fileserver.php helper file to a remote File Storage Area. These settings control the behavior of the Digital Delivery system. Configure these settings to make the system perform to your desired specifications.
Digital Objects
Digital Object Editor
Use this tool to create a single Digital Object.
key concept A Digital Object is any computer file such as a .zip file, .mp3, .pdf, etc. Any type of file may be used as a Digital Object. A Digital Object may also be the URL of a webpage. The Digital Delivery system will prevent the website's URL from being displayed to the customer.
Search Digital Objects
Search through the store's Digital Objects.
Search & Replace Digital Object URLs
This tool is used for changing the URLs of selcted Download Files all at once. This is useful if the Download Files are moved to a new location, a password protected directory has been added, etc.
Digital Object Orders
Place a FREE Digital Delivery Order
This tool will add a FREE Digital Object Order to the store records, at no charge to the customer.
Search Digital Object Orders
Track the Digital Object sales. View and search orders.
Digital Object Performance Report
Which files are being downloaded? How much bandwidth are downloads using?
File Storage Areas
Add a File Storage Area
Use this tool to add a new File Storage Area. File Storage Areas are locations that host the download files sold in the store.
Search File Storage Areas
Search through the store's File Storage Areas.
Scan File Storage Area & Add a Series of Digital Objects
This tool will scan a selected File Storage Area and create a Digital Object for each file selected. Once the Digital Objects have been created, they will be available in the Search Digital Objects page.
