Step 7 of the Account Setup Wizard is where you set how you want your store to accept payments from your customers. There are two sections: credit card settings and PayPal Options.
Credit Card Settings
There are several settings available for credit card transactions:
-
Capturing of Funds
Use this option to set whether your store only confirms that the customer's credit card has sufficient funds when they check out, which is called authorize only. If your store is set to authorize only, then you will need to manually collect the funds from the customer's credit card later.
If you want your store to confirm that the customer's credit card has sufficient funds and bill their card when they check out, then set this option to authorize and collect. When set to authorize and collect, no manual follow-up is required to obtain the funds from the customer's credit card.
-
Processing Gateway
Select the company that you use to bill credit cards. Common payment gateways include Authorize.net, PayFlow Pro, PayPal Website Payments Pro, etc. There are many different payment gateways. The ones that are compatible with the shopping cart software will be listed in this option's menu.
-
Gateway Credentials
Each payment gateway uses a different set of criteria to communicate with the shopping cart software. The fields presented in this option will vary, depending on which payment gateway was selected in the previous option.
PayPal Options
If you would like to accept payments from customers using the PayPal Website Payments Standard off-site payment gateway, then enter your PayPal Account Login (usually the email address associated with your PayPal account) in the field provided. If this field is completed, then the store will automatically add a "Pay with PayPal" button to the store's checkout page.
