The YouTube Integration options, located at [Modules > 3rd-Party Service Integration > YouTube Integration], allow the store to display YouTube content.

YouTube Integration Options

Use the YouTube module?
If this option is set to YES, then content between the {IF-USING-YOUTUBE-BEGIN} and {IF-USING-YOUTUBE-END} QuickCode Tags will be displayed in the storefront. If this option is set to NO, then content between the {IF-USING-YOUTUBE-BEGIN} and {IF-USING-YOUTUBE-END} QuickCode Tags will not be displayed in the storefront.

YouTube Channel
Enter the URL of the YouTube Channel to integrate with the store.

Embed Videos
This section provides instructions to embed individual videos into the store.

In order to embed a video, it is necessary to first obtain the video's embed HTML code from YouTube.

Then, in the store's administration area, the code snippet may be inserted into the HTML template of a store page, or into the description text of a product, category, or vendor.

Embed Playlists
This section provides instructions to embed video playlists into the store.

In order to embed a video, it is necessary to first create the playlist and add videos to it. It is recommended to then make use of the YouTube options to create a Custom Player and Generate Code.

Then, in the store's administration area, the generated code snippet may be inserted into the HTML template of a store page, or into the description text of a product, category, or vendor.

embed video in a template vs. embed video in a description
If the code snippet is inserted into the HTML template of a store page, that video (or video playlist) will be displayed on all store pages that use the template. If the code snippet is inserted into the description of an individual item, the video will only be displayed on the pages that contain that specific item's description.

For instance, to display the same video on all product pages, the code snippet could be inserted into the product.tpl HTML template.

To instead display a different video on the product page for every product, different code snippets could be inserted into the long description text of every product.

note

The instructions on the YouTube Integration page, to obtain or generate the code snippets necessary to embed a video or video playlist, are based on the YouTube documentation available at:

http://www.youtube.com/youtubeonyoursite

More detailed instructions may be available by following the above link to the YouTube documentation.
