The Template Package Image Manager page displays the images that have been uploaded to the store's template package image directories, and provides several options to manage the image files.
key concept: template package images only
The Template Package Image Manager page lists only the image files located in the selected template package. It does not list other types of images used by the shopping cart software, such as product images. To manage those images, use the Search Store Graphics tool.
The Template Package Image Manager is accessible in the store's admin area through a link in the Related Pages section at [Design > Template Package Sandbox].
Search Template Images
The Search Template Images section includes options to choose which image directory to search, and how many results to display per page.
Simply select an image directory from the first dropdown menu, optionally adjust the number of images to be shown per page, then click Search.
Or to search for images in a different template package, choose the template package from the second dropdown menu. The first dropdown menu will then update to include the image directories for the newly selected template package. At that point, select the desired image directory from the first dropdown, optionally adjust the number of images to be shown per page, then click Search.
The images in the selected directory will then be listed in the Store Images table below.
The Search Template Images section also includes a link to upload more images to an image directory within the currently selected template package. The link will update each time a selection is made from the template package dropdown menu. Clicking the link will open the Select/Upload Images tool, which provides options to choose the destination images directory within the target template package,
Template Images
The Template Images section lists the images from the selected image directory. The images may be sorted by clicking the up and down arrows that are included in the headers of most columns.

View Image
This column displays a thumbnail of the image. Clicking on the thumbnail will open a new window that displays the image's full size version.
File Name
This column displays the name of the image file on the server.
File Path for use in Templates
This column displays the image's file name and directory path within the server's template packages directory. This path and name combination may be used to display the image within templates in the same template package.
Last Modified
This column displays the date and time at which the file was last changed or uploaded.
Image Width
This column displays the width in pixels of the image.
Image Height
This column displays the height in pixels of the image.
File Size
This column displays the amount of disk space used by the image file, in kilobytes.
Checkbox
This column includes a checkbox which may be used to select one or more images. The green checkmark in the column header may be clicked to toggle between selecting and clearing all of the checkboxes in the current page of search results.
Perform an action on the rows selected above...
The Perform an action on the rows selected above... section provides tools to manage the image files within the selected image directory.
There are four basic items in this section: the action dropdown menu, the apply-to dropdown menu, and the Go button. When an option is selected from the action menu, action detail items may appear to the right of the action menu.
In order to perform any of the file management actions, first select the desired option from the action menu, next enter the desired action detail settings, then select a range from the apply-to menu, and finally click Go.
beware of broken links
When an image is moved or deleted, any link in the storefront to that file will no longer be able to display the image. This may result in a broken link.
action dropdown menu options
Copy to another Image Directory...
This option may be used to create a copy of the selected image files, in different image directory within the same template package. The image files will still exist in the original directory, in addition to the copies in the new directory.
When this option is selected, the action detail dropdown menu will appear to the right of the action menu. The action detail menu contains a list of all of the image directories within the current template package, as well as the option A NEW Image Directory...
If A NEW Image Directory... is selected, then a secondary action detail item will appear to the right, to enter the name of the new image directory.
Download in a .zip file
This option may be used to download a .zip file that contains the selected image files. The .zip file will have the same name as the selected image directory.
Move to another Image Directory...
This option may be used to move the selected image files to another directory. The image files will be removed from the original directory, and inserted into the new directory.
When this option is selected, the action detail dropdown menu will appear to the right of the action menu. The action detail menu contains a list of all of the store's current image directories, as well as the option A NEW Image Directory...
If A NEW Image Directory... is selected, then a secondary action detail item will appear to the right, to enter the name of the new image directory.
Delete
This option may be used to delete the selected images.
apply-to dropdown menu options
Apply action to just the images selected above. When this option is selected, the specified action will be applied only to images with a selected checkbox in the Template Images table.
Apply action to ALL of the images in the "directory_name" Image Directory.
When this option is selected, the specified action will be applied to all of the images in the current image directory, regardless of any checkbox selections in the Template Images table.
Copy vs. Move
Copying and moving images to another directory are two very similar tasks. Copying an image creates an additional instance of the image, located in another directory, so that there are two files with the same name and same contents on the server. Moving an image relocates the image to another directory, so that the original directory no longer contains the image and there is only one image with its name and content on the server.
To copy or move selected images:

In the Template Images table, select the checkboxes for the images to be copied or moved.

In the first dropdown menu of the Perform an action on the rows selected above... section, select either Copy to another Image Directory... or Move to another Image Directory... When either of these options is selected, another dropdown menu will appear to the right.

If images are to be moved to an existing directory, select the directory name from the new dropdown menu.

If the images are to be moved to a new directory, select A NEW Image Directory... from the new dropdown menu.

In the text field that appears to the right, type in the name of the new directory (using only letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores).

Choose Apply action to just the images selected above from the next dropdown menu.

Click Go, to create the directory (if necessary), and copy or move the selected images to the selected directory.
To copy or move all images within the current directory:

In the first dropdown menu of the Perform an action on the rows selected above... section, select either Copy to another Image Directory... or Move to another Image Directory... When either of these options is selected, another dropdown menu will appear to the right.

If images are to be moved to an existing directory, select the directory name from the new dropdown menu.

If the images are to be moved to a new directory, select A NEW Image Directory... from the new dropdown menu.

In the text field that appears to the right, type in the name of the new directory (using only letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores).

Choose Apply action ALL of the images in the "directory_name" Image Directory from the next dropdown menu.

Click Go, to create the directory (if necessary), and copy or move all images from the current directory to the selected directory.
Create a backup of template images
Downloading all of a directory's images in a compressed .zip file is a quick and easy way to back up the template package's image directory. If the template package has multiple image directories, a .zip file would need to be individually downloaded for each image directory.
If it is necessary to recreate the directory, simply upload the saved .zip file using the Upload more images to the images directory in the package_name Template Package link in the Search Template Images section at the top of the Template Package Image Manager page.
To download a .zip file containing all of the image files within a selected image directory:

Make sure the desired directory is the one displayed in the Search Template Images section.

If necessary, select the desired directory and template package from the Search Template Images dropdown menu, then click Search.

In the first dropdown menu of the Perform an action on the rows selected above... section, select Download in a .zip file.

Choose Apply action ALL of the images in the "directory_name" Image Directory from the next dropdown menu.

Click Go to create a .zip file containing all of the image files within the current image directory. The .zip file will have the same name as the image directory.

Depending on which browser is used, a popup window may appear with options to Open or Save File.

Choose Save File, then click OK.

Some browsers may immediately and automatically download the .zip file.
