Release notes for Modular Merchant version 13.0423 - Administration Area
- Subscription Products Module
The Subscription Products module's Shipping Method option will be moved to a new location in the next software update. It will now be an option within the Product Editor.
This change is being made because currently this single option affects every new subscription that is created. By moving it to the Product Editor, the option to change the shipping method of new subscriptions can now be controlled on a product-by-product basis.
The option is currently located at: [Modules > Subscription Products > Module Settings > Option #3]. After this update, it will be located at: [Products > Product Editor > Option #54].
The module option's current setting will be retained. When the update is installed, all of the products in the store will have the module's current setting applied to them. Then, this setting can be changed on a product-by-product basis. - Product Editor
The Product Attribute input fields will again have the intended CSS style applied to them once again. (A previous update was causing a conflict that was preventing the correct CSS style from being applied to Product Attribute text and other input fields.) - Merchant Account Statistics Report
Added a new report at [Reports > Merchant Account Stats]. This Merchant Account Statistics Report calculates the estimated merchant account fees you're paying to your payment gateway. The figures displayed in this report are based on the values entered in the Merchant Account Settings section of the System Settings. - Search Subscriptions
The Action Menu at the bottom of the Search Subscriptions page now includes options to change the shipping method and payment gateway. These options can be used to apply those changes to a large group of subscriptions all at once. - Subscription Editor
Made some interface improvements to the Payment Gateway settings in the Subscription Editor. The menu options have been simplified, and certain gateways will be removed from the list of options if they're not compatible with store's current settings. - Event Engine
- Order Total Adjustments
Improved the support for events that increase the order's grand total. Previously, these events could still lower the order's total in some situations. The way that the price adjustment is displayed and described on the basket, checkout and receipt pages has also been improved. - General
- Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Prevention
Made several updates to the software's Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) Prevention software, to prevent malicious activity by bots and other users. - Import/Export Center

- Event Engine
Fixed an issue that could prevent the events that were triggered when an order was placed from being recorded in the order's database record. - Email Batch Report
Added the Email Batch Report to the Modular Mailer section of the store's Administration Area. This report displays details of a batch of emails that have been sent out using the Modular Mailer bulk-mail module. The report includes many details about the batch's performance, including the number of emails in the batch that have been viewed by recipients, how many emails encountered delivery failures, how many times each link in the email has been clicked, and much more. More information about the Email Batch Report is available in the knowledge base. - Modular Mailer
The Modular Mailer home page in the Administration Area at [Modules > Modular Mailer] now has a link to a new paged named Search Email Batches. This link points to a new report that displays a detailed review of the performance of the email batches that you've sent out using the Modular Mailer module. - QuickCode Tags
- PRODUCT-ATTRIBUTE-VALUE
Fixed an issue in which using the {PRODUCT-ATTRIBUTE-VALUE} QuickCode Tag with a parameter wouldn't display the value of that product attribute if the attribute had been set to "internal". - IF-PRODUCT-IN-ORDER-BEGIN
The {IF-PRODUCT-IN-ORDER-BEGIN} QuickCode Tag can now be used in the "Notification of Upcoming Invoice" email that can be sent out several days before a customer's subscription is processed. - PRODUCT-ATTRIBUTE-VALUE
The {PRODUCT-ATTRIBUTE-VALUE} has been updated so that it can now be used in more places when the tag is used with a parameter. It can now be used in the list of newest products, on the storefront's category, search results, and vendor pages, and in the list of related products. - PRODUCT-URL
The {PRODUCT-URL} QuickCode Tag can now be used in the product.tpl template file to display the URL of that product's storefront page. - RICH-SNIPPET
Created the {RICH-SNIPPET} QuickCode Tag that can be used on the product.tpl template file to generate "Rich Snippets" in the source code of a product's storefront page. Rich Snippets are used by search engines to help categorize products and other content to help improve the quality of the page's placement in search engines. - Storefront
- Receipt Emails
Fixed an issue that could cause additional line breaks to be added to the Memos in receipt emails. - Subscriptions
- Subscription Processing

- Rich Snippets
The Universal version of the template for the storefront's product page now includes a QuickCode Tag to include Rich Snippet content in the page's source code. Rich Snippets are used to help Google understand the content on your pages. Snippets are a list of detailed information intended to help search engines catalog the page for specific queries. These rich snippets help search engines recognize when your site is relevant to a specific search, and may result in more clicks to your pages.
