Within the shopping cart software, COGS, or Cost Of Goods Sold, is used to refer to the cost of producing a product.
This can include the costs of the materials used to produce the product goods, labor, or allocated overhead. Generally, the costs of those goods not yet sold are deferred as costs of inventory until the inventory is sold or written down in value.
The COGS value is not displayed publicly in the storefront. It is only used within the Administration Area in some reports and other analysis tools.
