SFTP, or Secure File Transfer Protocol, is a secure protocol for transferring files to and from a server, similar to FTP.
PCI Compliance rules prohibit FTP access, so SFTP is used instead.
Accounts with a hosting plan may use an FTP program, such as FileZilla, to connect to the store's hosting server. This may be done to move files to or from the server. Most FTP programs are also capable of connecting via SFTP.
