One or more products in a subscription can be put "on hold" either until a specific date, or indefinitely. A product in a subscription that is on hold either indefinitely or until a future date will not be processed by the automated subscription billing system, even if it is due or overdue.
example For example, a customer has a subscription for Product X that has a bill date of March 11th. The customer's subscription is then edited to put that product on hold through March 12th.
On March 11th, the customer's subscription to Product X will not be billed.
On March 12th, the customer's subscription to Product X will not be billed.
On March 13th, the customer's subscription to Product X will be billed, and their next upcoming invoice for the product will be scheduled according to the Subscription Products module settings.
Note: When a subscription is billed late due to being on hold, it may have "late fee" finance charges applied to it, depending on how your Subscription Products module settings are configured.
