A cron job is a server task that is scheduled to be run at a certain time and will be automatically run at that time by the server.

A Modular Merchant example of a cron job is the Subscription Queue. A cron job allows the server to process the Subscription Queue every day at the time(s) specified in the Processing Time option at [Modules > Subscription Products > Subscription Products Module Settings].
